Cheesy Potato Puffs
Ingredients
2 cups pureed potatoes (extras work perfectly!)
1 cup destroyed cheddar (or your #1 cheddar)
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup green onions, chopped (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 cup breadcrumbs (for extra crispiness)
Cooking splash or oil (for baking or searing)
Instructions
Preheat and Plan: Preheat your stove to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with material paper or softly oil it.
Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, egg, green onions, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth.
Form Puffs: Use a spoon or scoop to form small balls or puffs from the potato mixture. Roll each puff in breadcrumbs for added crispiness.
Bake or Fry:
For baking: Put the puffs on the pre-arranged baking sheet. Softly splash with cooking shower. Heat for 20-25 minutes or until brilliant brown and firm.
For broiling: Intensity oil in a skillet over medium intensity. Fry each puff until golden brown on all sides, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serve:
Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, like sour cream, ranch, or marinara.
