Chia Water
Ingredients:
- 1 to 2 tablespoons of chia seeds
- 1 cup of water (preferably filtered)
- 1 tablespoon of lemon or lime juice (optional, for flavor)
- 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
- A pinch of salt (optional, for balance)
Instructions:
- Soak the Chia Seeds: In a glass or a small bowl, add the chia seeds and water. Stir the seeds in the water to prevent them from clumping together. Let them sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the seeds to absorb the water and create a gel-like consistency.
- Stir: After the chia seeds have absorbed the water and expanded, stir the mixture well. You can add more water if you prefer a thinner consistency.
- Add Flavors: If you like, add the lemon or lime juice for a refreshing zing, and sweeten with honey or maple syrup to taste. Stir again to combine.
- Chill (Optional): You can chill the chia water in the fridge for about 30 minutes for a cooler, more refreshing drink, or serve it immediately.
- Serve: Pour the chia water into a glass and enjoy! Stir the seeds again before drinking, as they can settle at the bottom.
